A Message From the Mart ISD School Board
To the Mart ISD Families, Staff and Community,
At the November 25, 2024, Board meeting, the Mart ISD Board of Trustees took action to place Superintendent Burnett on administrative leave pending the Board’s proposed termination of her Superintendent contract. The reasons for the Board’s actions have been communicated to the Superintendent by the Board since January 2024, and, as required by law, she will be provided with notice of the charges in writing. Although the Board is not at liberty to discuss personnel matters of any Mart ISD employee, a review of the Board’s meeting minutes since January 2024, demonstrates the Board’s efforts and work since early this year to improve the joint leadership between the Board and Superintendent. These efforts include multiple Board trainings, Team of 8 trainings with the Superintendent, written Board goals and expectations, and multiple Executive Session meetings to discuss Superintendent roles and responsibilities, as well as consultation with Board legal counsel. Joint leadership between the Board and Superintendent is necessary to ensure that the leadership roles for both positions are carried out. The Mart ISD Board is entrusted with acting in the best interest of the District and the Board acted in the best interest of the District based on the information it has considered and discussed with the Superintendent for almost a year. As a Board we will continue to strive to keep the best interest of our students, faculty, staff and community of Mart ISD at the forefront of all we do. Thank you for your support.

Next week's edition of Panther Talk can be found at the following link. Have a great Thanksgiving break #PANTHERFamily! https://secure.smore.com/n/mcx84

Please congratulate these Lady Panthers on earning Cross Country and Volleyball Academic All-State honors for their work in the classroom.
Thank you to all the teachers who along the way have helped challenge them and establish a work ethic that has helped lead to their success.
You must be a senior to earn this award for the Texas High School Coaches Association. You must have a 92 or higher GPA to even be considered and then teams are based on overall GPA, Class Rank, SAT, and ACT scores.
We are very proud of each of these senior girls. We have celebrated them on the field of play as Cross Country advanced to the regional meet after earning 2nd place at the district meet. The Volleyball team gave us a great showing in the Bi-District playoffs by keeping us on the edge of our seats through 5 sets. Each of these girls had an impact in both of those programs not just this year but in years past. They are a great example of what it means to be a STUDENT-ATHLETE.

Meet our first two Student Spotlights - Mason Graham and Izabella Vega! History has its eyes on these students and we can't wait to witness it! #PANTHERFamily

Mart ISD would like to thank all of the families who donated to our canned food drive, it was a huge success. The winners of the contest will be announced soon!
