Congratulations to Kenyson Lewis, the 2023 recipient of the Patsy Baker Wren scholarship.
Kenyson is entering her final semester in the Registered Nursing program at McLennan Community College. Upon graduation she hopes to accept a position on an intensive care unit that will allow her to expand her knowledge while providing exceptional care to patients and their families. She will continue to advance her education by pursuing her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington. Kenyson was the Salutatorian of the Mart High School Class of 2020.

Patsy Baker Wren is a proud member of Mart High School’s class of 1957. She attended Mart schools throughout her 12 years of public education. Upon her graduation from Baylor University, Patsy taught for 29 years. She was a member of the teaching staff at Riesel, Marlin, and Mexia ISDs before her retirement. This scholarship is established by her children to recognize and honor her commitments and sacrifices in order to ensure their educations. The scholarship award of at least $2,500 per year is intended for college students who have completed at least half of any under-graduate requirements towards a degree plan.
